Going North on I-5 take the Madison Street exit (which exits off the left of the freeway) and turn right at the light onto Madison Avenue. Follow to Boren Avenue and turn left. Turn right onto Olive Way and then right onto Melrose. Follow one more block to Pine Street and take a right. The Paramount Theatre is located three blocks down on the corner of 9th Avenue and Pine Street.

Please note: In early 2011 the tunnel boring machine that will construct the light rail tunnels between Capitol Hill and downtown Seattle will start digging south from Capitol Hill. Before it reaches the Pine Street area in late 2011, Sound Transit must prepare the ground under I-5 for the arrival of the tunnel boring machine. The construction contract to complete this work will require the temporary closure of the Olive Way off-ramp from northbound I-5, the Cherry Street on-ramp to northbound I-5 and the Pike/Pine reversible HOV ramp to the I-5 express lanes.

Drivers should plan ahead during the closures and expect the Olive Way off-ramp from northbound I-5 will be closed for about one year starting as early as May 18, 2009.

Sound Transit is working closely with the Washington State Department of Transportation, the City of Seattle and King County Metro to plan detours. During the year long closure a signed detour route will be in place. Drivers will exit to Madison Street and turn left on Boren Avenue to reach Olive Way. Going South on I-5 take the Stewart Street exit. Follow Stewart to 9th Avenue and turn left. Follow 9th Avenue for two blocks to Pine Street. The Paramount Theatre is located on the corner of 9th Avenue and Pine Street.

Parking
The Paramount Theatre does not have its own parking lot. There is a loading zone on 9th Avenue and Pine to drop off passengers. There are several pay lots in the area as well as metered street parking (after 6pm and Sundays are free). There are also multi-level garages at The Grand Hyatt’s 7th and Pike Street Garage, The Washington State Convention Center and in Pacific Place Mall.
